Vacancy Director Binger Filmlab
The Binger Filmlab workspace in Amsterdam enjoys a
prestigious international reputation. Binger Filmlab wants to extend and
broaden this reputation and is seeking a new managing director.
The successful
candidate must have a sharp and flexible mind and be a visionary with extensive
national and international networks. S/he will ensure Binger Filmlab is a
guiding force in the challenging future of new media and will connect this
function with existing workshops and master classes for film professionals in the
fields of feature and documentary filmmaking. Binger Filmlab has a permanent staff of eleven and a
large number of visiting advisors.
Binger Filmlab expects its new director to have the
following qualities and skills:
- an academic level
of working and thinking;
- relevant knowledge
on the development and production of feature films, documentary films and games
and other manifestations of new media;
- experience in
leading an organisation with a creative workforce;
- a flexible and
strategic approach to operating within the complex infrastructure of the
national and international film industry, cultural institutions and the
government;
- good networking
skills – being a good host to visiting advisors and filmmakers from the
Netherlands and abroad;
- a keen eye for
scouting talent;
- preferably, an
excellent command of spoken and written Dutch and English, at minimum.
This position will initially be temporary, with the
possibility of conversion to a permanent appointment. The commencing salary will be based on scale 15 of the BBRA
salary scale commonly operating in governmental institutions.
