Taxi van Palemu to be seen on Dutch Television

The feel good youth TV-series Taxi van Palemu by writers Mariëlle van Sauers and Jolein Laarmans and director Nicole van Kilsdonk is to be seen on Dutch National Broadcast as from the end of October this year.

Taxi van Palemu is about 12-year-old Surinam boy Palemu who has to take over his father’s job as a taxi driver when he brakes his leg. Together with his friend Hailey, Palemu tries to make the best of it…

Van Sauers developed the series as part of the Kids & Color programme at Binger Filmlab, with support of STIFO, in 2001 and is currently developing her first feature film Marie & Jim at Binger.

The groundbreaking series Taxi van Palemu, shot on location in Surinam by Lemming Film, had its premiere at Cinekid Film Festival and is to be seen every Sunday morning at 11:30 am at VPRO’s Villa Achterwerk, Ned. 3.
