Cue lights, roll film and PUMP UP THE VOLUME. International star cinematographer Chris Doyle suddenly charges in and vamps across the stage punching his fist in the air, shouting along (in French) to the music. Then in the room’s side shadows he pads back and forth a moment, beer in hand, before swaggering across stage again, bathed in his own gloriously saturated images playing out on three screens.

Three Golden Calfs for Binger Alumni, The City of Utrecht Prize, the Binger Award, the fourth edition of MakersvoorMakers, a conference about innovative media and last but not least an exciting visit from the Keith Richards of film; cinematographer Christopher Doyle.
It’s a gorgeously clear, warm Sunday, a rarity in Holland, and people with regular week-day jobs are flocking to parks and beaches in droves. In Utrecht however, the Netherlands Film Festival is in full swing, and MakersvoorMakers, a festival highlight according to some participants, is about to commence.
